Hi there, come on in. And make yourself comfortable.about-page_400

My name is Rev. Erin Goodman and I am a minister, mother and yogi living and working in beautiful Southern Rhode Island.

As an interfaith minister, I serve individuals, couples, families and communities of all faiths, and of no faith, and am frequently called upon by people who describe themselves as “spiritual but not religious,” during times of celebration, sorrow, transition and reflection.

I graduated from and was ordained by One Spirit Learning Alliance in NYC, and hold a BA in Communication Studies and an MA in Teaching, from the University of Rhode Island and Rhode Island College, respectively.

I am also a certified Prepare-Enrich Facilitator, a student of Kingian Nonviolence and a Reiki practitioner.
..I am also a certified
In my 20’s, I taught elementary school (very briefly – God bless you, public school teachers!), was a newspaper reporter and editor and worked in public relations at a private university.
..really glad you are here and I look forward to connecting with you.
The birth of my first child in 2004, inspired me, with the help of several wonderful friends, to create the Rhode Island Birth Network, which I continue to serve in an advisory role.
I greatly enjoy being active in the local Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) movement and — after being a vegetarian for 17 years — worked as Marketing Director and CSA Manager for Pat’s Pastured, a local, grass-fed and pasture-raised meat company, for two years.
I am also a person who has struggled with depression and anxiety for most of my life, at times quite severely, and am extremely grateful to be in a place of health and stability and able to serve as a mentor and guide to others who are walking the path of Recovery.
(I know I could leave this part out, but the truth is that my experience with mental illness and my healing journey has shaped who I am today and the depth of experience from which I am able to draw when I am ministering to others. I believe with all my heart that I am a more loving, accepting, open-minded and compassionate person because of the personal challenges I have faced.)
When I am not ministering or enjoying time with my two children, ages 10 and 12, you will usually find me wearing an apron and visor, happily serving customers in a busy café.
And finally, for now at least – as this is getting a bit long for an introduction – I am a woman, whose passion and livelihood is largely built around helping couples to create and nurture healthy loving marriages, who for the past several years has been finding my way through the end of my own marriage and into the world of post-divorce co-parenting.
I’m really glad you are here and I look forward to connecting with you.
Love + Light…
