bio
erin barrette goodman is a nature-inspired writer, yoga teacher, community organizer and mother of two.
a long-time advocate of local, sustainable agriculture, she is the marketing director for pat's pastured, a grass-based sustainable farm in southern rhode island.
in 2005, erin founded the rhode island birth network,
which promotes empowered decision-making during the childbearing years,
and currently serves as the president of its advisory board.
in her pre-motherhood
life, erin interned with a u.s. senator, worked in state government, was a newspaper reporter/editor, and worked in public relations for a
small, private university where she edited the web site and managed
internal communications. (she was also a third-grade public school
teacher for a grand total of six weeks before waving the white
flag--while running out the door--but that’s a story for another day.) |

much of her writing falls
into the category of creative nonfiction and her favorite subjects are
her children, farming, local food, gardening, sustainable living, yoga,
nature, mothering, spirituality and creating community.
erin and her husband,
john, along with their two young children, are in the process of slowly, but steadily, moving
towards sustainable living on 1.5 acres near the rural edge of
suburbia. erin blogs about her days and life with her family here. |
