One day last month, while visiting my grandparents, I caught this photo of Lily sitting in the kitchen while her Nana, Great Auntie (and Godmother) and her Nanana swirled around her making dinner.
{Lily came up with the names Nanana and Grandpapa for my grandparents when she was a toddler.}
Everyone was busy stirring and cooking and talking and laughing and Lily was just sitting there soaking it all in.

My aunt lives out of state so when she comes to visit, it’s always cause for a celebration. We usually get together with the entire extended family on the weekends. (We always have somebody’s birthday or anniversary to celebrate!) But I also love these spontaneous small-scale gatherings that occur during her visits.
And on this day, I loved watching my children relax and play and listen to all the stories that are told in my Nana’s kitchen, a space that holds so many warm memories from my own childhood.

your post is a reminder to me how lucky we are that our children know our parents so very well and see them regularly. (even if it isn’t as much as our parents would like!)

Such a sweet photo and it made me smile. :) It’s always so fun when distance granparents, uncles and aunties visits. This brings back such sweet and fond memories of my grandparents when i was a kid. :) I would love when i have little ones for them to grow up with sweet memories of the elders in the family too! Have a lovely merry happy day and love to you!
