I hope you all had a lovely holiday.
We’re taking things slowly this week, enjoying some extra family time with Papa on vacation (and some very special couple time as we look forward to our first overnight trip without children since we became parents over five years ago).
I’ll be back to say hello later this week and look forward to returning to a more regular posting schedule next week.
In the meantime, I hope you enjoy my second audio post. Still far from perfect — you’ll hear me struggle with Ps and Cs and stumble over more than a few words — but I’m having lots of fun revisiting these old essays and sharing them with you in this form and, as I often remind my children and my yoga students - practice makes progress.
I hope you enjoy…

Thank you for that.
Adding audio to your blog was a great idea. I loved that story when you first wrote it and shared it with us, now while listening to you read it, I closed my eyes and revisited all those wonderful memories! I very much enjoyed that Christmas challenge and hope that some day we do it again.
my husband and I enjoyed listening to your audio very much, he especially enjoyed the part where the men had a secret meeting to give up the handmade pressent idea! I think he thought it was pretty funny…..!

Oh my enjoy that time together. My husband and I have only enjoyed a few days of time together in the past seven years, so I understand that joy of taking time just the two of you.
We are also enjoying some very quality time as a family, and I will be so sad to see life return to “normal” next week.
Have a few last few days of 2009

I LOVED listening to this!! We have also struggled with gift giving in my family. We are now not purchasing gifts for the adults, but my sister’s and I all have our kids draw names to give gifts. This year i had my twin sister’s kids and I gifted them hand made dream pillows. My sister’s and I still do bday’s, but it is always a gift card…and we gave up buying for our husbands a few years ago. I tried to do a few hand made things for my mom and mother in law, but looking back all I got was money. My husband got me some hemp napkins and a fleece, but that was it. A few days after Xmas my mom gave me a handmade bracelet and my Aunt handed me down a ring and those were probably the most special!
Anyway…love the audio, thanks!
