Today it is my great pleasure to bring you a giveaway from someone very near and dear to my heart, someone I have known my entire 36 years, and someone I could not be more proud of…my aunt, Irene Garza DeVerna, owner of Eneri Knits.

*** *** *** ***

About Eneri Knits:

Eneri Knits is a newly-opened yarn shop and knitting boutique located in the Oak Harbor Village shopping center on Route Two in Exeter, RI.

Eneri Knits features a thoughtfully-selected inventory of yarns, patterns and accessories alongside sun-drenched couches and chairs that welcome visitors to linger and relax. There is also a workshop area where a number of classes in knitting and crocheting are offered.

Eneri Knits Mission Statement:

To share the craft of knitting with others, to build community with friends, and enrich our lives by nurturing our spirits. Peace, relaxation and tranquility to all who join us in this process!

About Eneri owner Irene Garza DeVerna:

In addition to being my aunt and friend, Irene is the mother of two grown sons and the grandmother of a sweet two-year-old (the lucky recipient of many a hand knit sweater and hat!). For 25 years Irene worked in Corporate IT until she was downsized from her job in 2008. Frustrated by her attempts to find work in a challenging economy, Irene began to wonder if her situation might actually be an opportunity to try something totally different. As she poured through help wanted ads and pondered her future she often sought solace in her favorite form of relaxation – knitting – and soon the idea for her exciting new endevour, Eneri Knits, was born!

It’s been such a joy to watch Irene’s dream unfold, and to join in with the rest of our extended family to do what we can to help, as we count down the days to the Eneri Knits Columbus Day Weekend Grand Opening celebration next Saturday and Sunday, October 9 & 10!

And now on to the Giveaway (which is open world-wide)…

One lucky reader will receive a copy of Phoebe’s Sweater, a beautiful book about the passage of time, the expansion of families, and the the bond between mother and child. The winner of this giveaway will also receive the yarn needed to knit Phoebe Mouse and her sweet little dress.

I love the idea of a knitting store with couches. The next time we go through Exeter we will stop in, my Eve loves to knit.

We’ve never read Phoebe’s Sweater, but our family is expanding!
